Transcribing from recordings:
We provide transcriptions of Children songs, Wedding songs, Mbaqanga, Choral, Kwaito music, Jazz, Revolutionary songs, etc. from around the African continent.
Transcription And Typesetting:
A composer can approach us or we approach the composer and transcribe the music from their dictation of the notes/music. We transcribe and typeset music from the composer’s handwritten scores in both tonic solfa or staff notation.
- Transcription from a licensed recording or video.
- Transcriptions from a composers handwritten score.
- Transcriptions from Tonic-sol-fa notation.
- Transcription from the composer’s dictation (signing, playing from the piano etc.) of the music.
Commissioning
Commissioned by individuals to transcribe from a recording:
- People, be it individual artists, agents or recording labels can submit their own transcriptions (or original scores) which will have to meet the company’s requirements and standard. There’s also a possibility of the company accepting the music and assist in adjusting the quality of the score. On request, it is possible to commission Jiwe Music to transcribe your own music or offer help notating your own compositions.
- Clients can commission Jiwe Music to transcribe a specific composition.
Editing
The composer will provide Jiwe Music with the Sibelius or Finale score. Jiwe Music will then edit and format the score according to the requirement of the Publisher.
